What is the Cambridge A-level Programme?
The A-level Cambridge programme is an international academic programme administered by University of Cambridge Assessment International Education, a division of the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, United Kingdom.


What differentiates the IB programme from the A-level programme?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is another international academic programme administered by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) in Geneva, Switzerland. Both programmes are recognised by international universities for admission to professional degree programmes, such as medicine and engineering.


How long does the A-level curriculum last?
A-level is a two-year international curriculum.


What kinds of degree programmes does MARA sponsor through the A-level programme?
As indicated in MARA’s offer letter.


When will students take their A-level examinations?
May/June (first year of study) for Level 1 (Advanced Subsidiary, AS).

May/June (second year of study): Level 2 (Advanced Level, A-level).


What subjects will be taught as part of the A-level curriculum?
All students are required to study a minimum of three subjects to satisfy MARA and university requirements:

Engineering & Technology: Mathematical, Chemical, and Physics

Science: Mathematics, chemistry, and Biology

Professional Science: Mathematics, Economics, and Accountancy    
                  

In addition to these subjects, students take English for IELTS certification and Religious Studies/Moral Education, which are college-level assessments.


What requirements must a student meet in order to study abroad?
For MARA sponsorship, the student must earn a minimum of 13 points (3As, 2As, and 1B, or 1A and 2 Bs) in three A-level subjects (3As, 2As, and 1B, or 1A and 2 Bs).  The student must also attend and pass the Biro Tata Negara course and satisfy the university’s English proficiency requirement, such as IELTS.

A = 5 points

B = 4 points

C = 3 points

D = 2 points

E = 1 point


What will happen to a student who receives fewer than 13 points?
Students and their parents are required to locate alternative educational programmes. However, MARA will assist students secure placement in local universities offering a comparable programme.


How long has the A Level programme been offered by Kolej MARA Seremban?
Since 2005


How was the previous performance of A-level students?
Previously, between 80- 90% of our students studied abroad on average.

How are instruction and learning implemented within KMS?

There are a maximum of 25 students per class, and learning occurs through group discussions, lectures, and tutorials.


Do students need to purchase textbooks?
Textbooks can  be bought through subject teachers.


Are there any examination expenses that students must pay?
MARA will pay all examination fees; however, if students are repeating a paper, they must pay the examination fees for the paper.
